Died 24 December 1948 in London, England, United Kingdom.

Married Ruth Mackay, 1905; until Eille’s death, 24 December 1948.

Eille Norwood began acting on the British stage, making a transition to motion pictures in 1911, where he is best remembered as portraying Sherlock Holmes in three series of short films in 1921-1923 “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes,” “The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes” and “The Last Adventures of Sherlock Holmes,” and in the feature films The Hound of the Baskervilles (1921) and The Sign of Four (1923).
